Job Description
The Data Collector will be responsible for conducting qualitative data collection for community-based and public health programs. The role involves interviewing community members, collecting accurate data, and ensuring high-quality transcription and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct focus group discussions, in-depth interviews, and key informant interviews.
- Take detailed notes, manage audio recordings, and ensure accurate transcription of responses.
- Use smartphones or tablets for data entry and reporting.
- Engage respectfully with community stakeholders, including caregivers, health workers, and leaders.
- Report daily field activities and findings to the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- OND / HND / B.Sc. in Sociology, Public Health, Social Work, Anthropology, or any relevant social science field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in qualitative data collection for community or public health projects.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in notetaking and data transcription.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use mobile data collection tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in Yoruba and ability to conduct and translate interviews in the language.
- Must be resident in Osun State.
