Job Description

The Utah State University Masters Scholarship 2025 offers a fully funded opportunity for motivated postgraduate students to join a dynamic research team working on wildlife health and eco-epidemiology. The selected candidate will be part of an ongoing study focused on waterfowl mortality and avian disease surveillance in the Great Salt Lake region.

This is a graduate assistantship position designed primarily for data management and analysis, with potential for limited fieldwork. The role includes collaboration with academic researchers, wildlife agencies, and local stakeholders to contribute to impactful ecological and public health outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements

Eligibility Criteria:

A Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, wildlife biology, biological sciences, or a closely related field.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.

Knowledge of lab and field safety procedures.

Scholarship Benefits:

This fully funded program includes:

Annual stipend of $22,000

Full tuition and fee coverage

Health insurance

Two-year program duration

Graduate assistantship role starting Fall 2025 (August 25)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with wildlife research, disease ecology, spatial analysis, or epidemiological modeling.

Background in population modeling, GIS, or remote sensing.

Experience in lab settings (BSL-2 or above) and safe animal handling.

Strong academic writing or publication history.
