Job Description
The Registrar serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Council, responsible for providing administrative leadership, overseeing policy implementation, and ensuring WAEC fulfills its mandate across member countries. The role requires vision, innovation, and strategic planning to strengthen the Council’s operations and adapt to evolving educational systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Council’s operations and management.
- Develop and implement long-term strategic plans.
- Oversee examination systems and assessment methodologies across member states.
- Promote innovation in examinations, assessment practices, and technology adoption.
- Ensure effective execution of WAEC’s mandate across the sub-region.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A First Degree (minimum of Second-Class Lower or equivalent) from a recognized university.
- Master’s Degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation or Educational Administration is an advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years relevant post-qualification experience, with at least 6 years in a leadership/managerial role in an assessment or testing organization.
- Must currently hold a position not below Director level (or equivalent).
- Strong managerial, interpersonal, and strategic leadership skills.
- Applicants must not be older than 58 years by October 1, 2026.
