Job Description

The Direct Short Service Commission is a short-term service program designed to recruit skilled graduates and postgraduates into different professional roles in the Nigerian Air Force. Successful applicants will undergo military training and serve in designated capacities that align with their academic and professional backgrounds.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
  • Age: 20–32 years (Medical consultants: 25–40 years).
  • Height requirement: Minimum of 1.66m (male) and 1.63m (female).
  • Must be physically, medically, and mentally fit.
  • Must have no criminal record or prior conviction.
  • Applicants must not be serving personnel seeking Branch Commission.
  • Minimum of Second Class Upper Division for degree holders.
  • Minimum of Upper Credit for HND holders.
  • Additional qualifications (MSc/MA, computer literacy, professional certifications) are an advantage.
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter is required.
  • Medical professionals must be registered with the relevant professional bodies in Nigeria.
Application Process & Documents Required

Upon completing the online application, applicants must print and present the following documents:

  • Acknowledgement Form.
  • Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
  • Local Government Area (LGA) Attestation Form (signed by a qualified officer such as a Wing Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Magistrate, or Local Government Chairman/Secretary).
  • Each LGA Attestation Form must include:
  1. A passport photograph of the signee.
  2. A photocopy of the signee’s ID (Driver’s License, National ID, or International Passport).
