Job Description

1. Custodian III

Job Description

  • Ensure proper cleaning of all offices and conveniences.
  • Raise requisitions for cleaning materials and track usage.
  • Distribute toiletries daily to contracted staff.
  • Supervise outsourced custodial staff to ensure quality performance.
  • Liaise with building representatives to monitor cleaning outcomes.
  • Handle work orders and follow up with requestors to meet deadlines.
  • Measure floor spaces when necessary for work requests.
  • Keep records of cleaning activities, tools, and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Trade Test Certificate with at least 8 years’ relevant experience OR
  • National Diploma in Business Administration or a related course with a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
  • Proven knowledge of cleanliness and beautification of buildings.
  • Hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to manage cleaning operations effectively.

2. Mechanic II

Job Description

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair based on diagnostic results.
  • Recover vehicles from breakdown locations.
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and ensure tools/equipment are in good condition.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Trade Test Certificate with at least 6 years’ experience OR
  • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Strong skills in automotive repair and diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new methods.

3. Research Support Officer (Feed & Forage)

Job Description

  • Assist in setting up, managing, and maintaining forage research trials in both field and laboratory.
  • Prepare samples and support laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain research tools, equipment, and forage plots.
  • Provide technical and logistical support for research activities.
  • Collect and process feed and forage samples using NIRS machine.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • HND/BSc in Animal Science or related fields.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a structured environment.
  • Graduate Animal Scientist (GAS) Certification from NIAS is mandatory.
  • Strong skills in data collection, entry, and statistical analysis.
  • Good organizational and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to field research conditions.

4. Research Technician III

Job Description

  • Assist in setting up livestock feed and Black Soldier Fly (BSF) trials.
  • Support technical team in maintaining hygiene on ILRI farm.
  • Provide support for veterinary care of livestock.
  • Assist with fodder collection, processing, and livestock feed production.
  • Contribute to cassava peel processing for feed.
  • Prepare reports and maintain compliance with research activities.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • National Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Production, or related courses.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to write simple reports.
  • Team player with effective communication skills.
  • Upholds professional and ethical standards.

5. Research Support Officer (Data Management)

Job Description

  • Field Research Support
  • Implement research protocols and surveys.
  • Conduct field visits for data collection and farmer interviews.
  • Support livestock trials and demonstrations.
  • Data Management
  • Enter, clean, and analyze data using Excel, Kobo Toolbox, SPSS, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records and develop databases.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and confidentiality.
  • Support visualization, reporting, and publications.
  • Train staff and partners on data handling practices.
  • Logistical Support
  • Organize transport, procurement, and field supplies.
  • Provide other administrative support as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • HND/BSc in Agricultural Extension, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive attitude.
  • Experience in research data management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
