Job Description
FairMoney is seeking a Collections Specialist to join its dynamic team in Abuja. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing delinquent accounts, developing repayment solutions, and maintaining positive customer relationships while minimizing financial risk to the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle outbound and inbound calls to recover overdue payments from customers.
- Negotiate repayment terms and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions and repayment agreements.
- Identify and escalate complex cases or disputes for resolution.
- Collaborate with team members to improve recovery rates and implement best practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant financial regulations.
- Utilize collection systems and digital tools to monitor debt recovery performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in microfinance, banking, or Fintech operations, dealing directly with delinquent clients.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Excellent understanding of collection processes and approaches.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience in an outbound debt collection, sales, or customer service environment is essential.
- Working knowledge of collection systems is an added advantage.
